Mini ferry?

I am SO EXCITED. This is two blocks from my new workplace. I am going to love going to work every day. The air is salty and the breezes cool. Every hour or so the ferry blows its horn and the freight trains roll by. Edmonds is alive.

This guy says enough on his own.

The first ducklings I've seen this year.

What a strange and impressive thing, to watch a city grow rapidly all around you. It's amazing how much the Bellevue skyline has changed in the time I've been in Washington. It's kinda nice that the cranes are finally giving way to buildings.

I've been blessed enough to have spotted a lot of bald eagles lately. Witnessing such a majestic animal brings me joy.

June "snow" is the worst kind. *Achoo!*

(It's cottonwood, and yeah, I'm a little behind.)

Waterfront poppies. Marsh Park, Kirkland. What a glorious day.

Hypericum in my backyard. High ISO (oops!).

Today I played "red light green light" with this massive spider. I made a deal with him that I wouldn't smoosh him as long as he stayed the heck away from me. Every time I looked around he was a good 2 feet from where I saw him last, but he respected my personal space, so I respected his.

Juanita's farmers' market has actually grown to a respectable size in its third year. I'm so proud of my neighborhood!

Sometimes, I'll admit, I really miss city life. I miss the noises. I miss the people everywhere. I miss the energy. But maybe I romanticize it too much...

I don't miss the homeless on every corner. I don't miss the smells (Seattle was pungent today).

But still, what a gorgeous day to be downtown. It brought me oodles of joy.

If a spider can make this overnight, why is it that Rome couldn't be built in a day?

June. You are f**king magnificent.

Today was an awesome day. A lot of good things happened today. I capped it all off with a drive home at my favorite time of night, just as the sky was turning sapphire blue. I had the windows down and was listening to "Decode" just as I crested a hill and the Olympic mountains rose up to the west (that's a Twilight reference, for anyone not as nerdy as me). Kirkland smelled of some kind of flowers, vaguely tuberose-esque. I had to stop somewhere with a view just to capture how amazing tonight was.

I organized my closet today. Woohoo! It's quite possible that this will be my last day of total freedom, so I've been working on finishing up projects and just generally organizing the chaos that I have instilled into my home where I've hibernated over the past six months. I am excited to work again, but of course I still don't feel like I accomplished everything I meant to during my time off. It's bittersweet, but my clothes look awesome!

It was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm surprised these jeans held out as long as they did. They're absolutely ancient, but I still love them.

We all have introspective days. We all contemplate our place in the universe. We all wonder who is really looking back at us from the mirror.

What a beautiful, clear day today. I saw Mt. Baker for the first time in months, but of course I was driving and snapping a photo would be dangerous. Probably.

Today, among other things, I basically whored myself out to Adobe CS3. Here's me doing a crazy photo compilation (see below). That's some beautiful rhythm. Also today (that didn't make it into a photo op): bouncing off the walls due to over-caffeination, job interview, bellydancing.

Introduction

This started out as a project I wanted to take on in the very beginning of the year, but I had many other things on my mind, so I procrastinated. That was compounded by my reaching my limit on my Flickr account. I counted on upgrading, but I've been looking for work for longer than I care to admit, so I haven't been able to justify the $25 yet. Then, when I was about to make an effort to start it, my place was robbed and all of my cameras stolen (except my Polaroid, but I'm using that sparingly). I finally got a new point-and-shoot (not as fun as my DSLR, but it will certainly do), and decided it was time to take on the challenge. I tried Facebook for a while, but that doesn't seem like the best forum. So here I am, bishes.
